1. How do I set up Squares?

There are 3 ways to configure Squares on the Twinkly App:

  • standard setup via Bluetooth for Generation II devices

  • configuration via Apple HomeKit (for iOS users only)

  • connection via your Squares direct Twinkly network.

2. Home Wi-Fi network connection via Bluetooth

This procedure is the same as for other Generation II Twinkly devices.

  1. Using the Twinkly App, launch a search for your new device.

  2. Select Twinkly Squares.

  3. Make sure your phone is close to Squares and hold down the Bluetooth button (on the back near the USB port) until the controller status indicator light turns blue.

  4. Select the option to connect to your home/office Wi-Fi network.

  5. Connect to your network.

3. Direct connection via Bluetooth

You can also connect Squares to its direct Twinkly network in APMODE mode, during the Bluetooth setup process and by selecting the direct connection option.

  1. Using the Twinkly App, launch a search for your new device.

  2. Select Twinkly Squares.

  3. Make sure your phone is close to Squares and hold down the Bluetooth button (on the back near the USB port).

  4. Select the direct Direct Wi-Fi option.

  5. Connect your smartphone to the Twinkly network and enter the password Twinkly2019.

  6. Change the Twinkly network password and connect to the network.

If you have HomeKit activated, choosing the direct Wi-Fi option will disable it.

(Home Kit is available if an internet connection is established, and the Twinkly network does not have internet, unlike your home Wi-Fi network.)

 

4. Connection via Apple HomeKit (for iOS users only)

During the setup process, you can connect via HomeKit by scanning the QR code on the back of the master panel package or in the quick guide.

  1. Using the Twinkly App, launch a search for your new device.

  2. Select the Quick connect with Apple HomeKit option (instead of selecting your device type).

  3. Follow the app setup guide and complete the connection.
