What’s the meaning of RGB, RGBW, and AWW LED profiles?

In-depth information on the characteristics of all available Profile LEDs.

Applies to all Gen I and Gen II devices, Twinkly PRO and Twinkly Plus.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue)

RGB LEDs can play over 16 million colors, blending the Red, Blue, and Green color components.

The concave lens and the matte bulbs enhance the colors and the brightness of each lamp. RGB colors include the whites: from cold to warm. In these cases, they are the result of the blend between the 3 RGB color sources.

You can group multiple RGB products, as long as they have the same LED profile.

The RGB color palette is shown below:

RGB+W (Red, Green, Blue + White)

For those who love colors, but get crazy also for the Warm White, we created a special LED, composed of 4 color source channels:

Red, Green, Blue + Warm White.

In addition to the 16 million colors developed by the 3 RGB channels, this special LED can play an amazing PURE Warm White. Alone, or blended with the other colors.

The concave lens, half clear and half matte, enhance the general brightness, the color blend, and the brilliance of the warm white.

You can group multiple RGBW products, as long as they have the same LED profile.

The RGB+W color palette is shown below:

AWW (Amber, Warm White, Cold White)

The AWW LEDs are the perfect choice for lovers of Christmas traditional colors. With their special LED profile, made of three color sources: Amber, Warm White, and Cold White, they can express these three colors with a super brilliant finish.

The brilliancy is enhanced by their concave transparent lens.

Important notes:

A great improvement for the 2021 edition: on our last models, there is now, no limit on the use of RGB+W strings.

This has been possible thanks to the connectors that have been modified and replaced (for this reason it won’t be possible to use strings from previous years with the new controllers and vice versa).

Twinkly Pro Power Line Controller supports RGBW lights on up to 6 ports; Twinkly Plus Power Line Controller supports RGBW lights on up to 2 ports.

Previous years editions, however, maintain these limitations:

  • Twinkly Pro Controller 1500 Eth: you can connect RGB+W strings on a max of 5 ports
  • Twinkly Pro Controller 400 wi-fi: it is possible to connect a max of one string.
