How can I manage my devices within the installations created in the Twinkly App?

Starting with the 3.13. released version of the Twinkly App, it is introduced the Installation, Objects and Roles concept for your Twinkly devices.

What does Object mean?

Object refers to a device or a group of devices that are part of a certain Installation.

What are Installations?

Each user can have within their Twinkly App one or more than one Installation.
Basically, an Installation is just a place within which one or more devices are set up.
For example you may choose to create an Installation for devices in the garden, one for your gaming room, one for the living room, and so on.

Within each installation you can add devices and/or groups that will only be part of that installation, or move them between the various Installations created on the App.

The default Installation is called Sweet Home, and within it you will find all the devices added without having assigned them to a personal Installation.

All devices that are not assigned to a personal Installation will be included in the default Installation called Sweet Home.

After upgrading to the 3.13. v. of the App all objects (devices and groups) already installed will be within Sweet Home Installation.

Special note for PRO users: For PRO users managing installations with at least one shared account, it's important to note that the default installation name will not be "Sweet Home." Instead, the naming convention follows a progressive numbering system starting from #1, based on the total number of installations. Each installation will be named sequentially, followed by the name of the owner associated with it. This ensures clarity and organization within your installations, especially when shared among multiple users.

How to create an Installation?

To create a new Installation, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Enter the Devices menu of the App (LED icon at the bottom right of the screen)

  2. Click on the + icon in the upper right-hand corner

  3. Select the Create Installation option

  4. Give your Installation a name, such as Office

How to enter a device within an installation?

Move a device already added on the App from one installation to another

To move a device already on the App from one installation to another, simply click on the > icon next to the device and, on the next screen, select the intended Installation via the Move this object to drop-down menu.

Add a new device within an Installation

To onboard a device directly within a specific Installation and not on the default one, follow these steps:

  1. Enter the Device area of the App ( LED icon at the bottom right of the screen)

  2. Select via the top menu (Home icon) the installation within which to include the device

  3. Click on the + icon (Add new device) in the upper right-hand corner

  4. Start the onboarding process

Each Installation/Device has an Owner, which is the user who created it.

The Owner can choose to share the installation with other members/users.
