In-depth overview of the White Management feature.
This article refers to Twinkly Twinkly Permanents Lights only.
The White Management feature gives you greater control over how white tones are displayed and managed on your Twinkly devices — especially when it comes to adjusting white temperature. It's designed to offer a more seamless and flexible lighting experience.
What Is White Management?
White Management is a feature developed exclusively for Permanent Lights. It allows you to:
- Access cool white tones that aren’t available by default.
- Adjust the temperature of white light, from warm to cool, for a more personalized lighting setup.
Whether you're decorating or using your lights for general illumination, this feature brings your Twinkly setup closer to the feel of standard LED lighting.
Why was this feature introduced?
All AWW (Gold & Silver), RGBW (Multicolor + White), and Twinkly Permanent Lights products include an additional warm white LED inside each bulb.
For the first two device categories, you can manage the white light through the dedicated palette, which allows you to adjust the intensity of the warm white tone.
For Twinkly Permanent Lights, that contain bulbs with both warm white and cool white LEDs inside , however, the feature is even more advanced: thanks to White Management, you can fine-tune the white light temperature from cool to warm and select any shade of °K in between.
What are the main benefits of White Management?
With White Management, you get:
- Instant access to white tones directly from the default color palette — no need to build them manually.
- Consistent white output across all your Twinkly devices.
- The ability to adjust white temperature for a more tailored look and feel.
How does White Management improve the color palette?
The White Management feature enhances your default palette in smart ways:
- RGB devices now include a cold white created from a combination of red, green, and blue.
- RGBW devices have an expanded white range, now including both neutral and warm whites.
- Even RGB-only devices can now simulate the warm white typically available on RGBW products — bringing a more natural lighting effect.
How Does It Work?
If you're using a Permanent Light, here’s how you can control white tones:
- Open the color control panel in the Twinkly app.
- Use the white temperature slider to move between warm and cool white tones
- Access the slider and color picker via a bottom sheet, designed for quick and easy use.
- The new circular color wheel makes it even more intuitive to find the exact shade you're looking for.
- Behind the scenes, the system blends cool white (CW) and warm white (WW) LEDs automatically — so you don’t need to worry about the technical details.
Who can access this feature?
Only users with the “User” or “Installer” profiles can create, edit, or delete custom color palette entries.
All users can use any colors (default or custom) shared within an installation.
To access White Management, your device must be connected to the internet.
Also keep in mind that if your Permanent Lights are part of a group that includes other Twinkly devices, for example in a synchronized garden setup, the White Management feature won’t be available, as its exclusive to the Permanent Lights model. Additionally, your Twinkly Permanent Lights device must all have a firmware version of 2.10.0 or higher.
