How to access your Twinkly network
This article refers toTwinkly Generation II devices, Twinkly PRO wi-fi controller and Twinkly Plus (Generation I devices do not require login passwords to access the Twinkly network)
What’s the Difference Between Generation I and Generation II?
On Generation I devices, the Twinkly network is not password protected. To connect, you simply need to select the Twinkly network from the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your phone.
On Generation II devices, the Twinkly network is password protected.
This means that during setup, you’ll be prompted to create a password for the Twinkly network. Once done, you’ll need to connect to the Twinkly_XXXXXX network via your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and enter the password you just created.
How Do I Connect to the Twinkly Network on Generation II Devices?
When setting up your device (during the onboarding process), if you choose to connect via Direct Mode, the app will ask you to set a password for the Twinkly network.
After that, just go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, select the Twinkly_XXXXXX network, and enter the password you created.
Good to Know Before Setup Begins
If your Twinkly device is powered on for the first time (or for the first time after a reset), it will immediately begin broadcasting its Twinkly Wi-Fi network, even before the onboarding process starts.
In this case, you can already connect to the network using the default password: Twinkly2019.
Later, if you go through the onboarding process and choose Direct Connection mode, the app will prompt you to change the network password during configuration.
Be careful: if you are already connected to the Twinkly network with your smartphone or tablet and then add the device, the app will start the network discovery. Once it finds your Twinkly, it will prompt you to change the password (from Twinkly2019 to one of your choice).
