A Brief Introduction to Homey and Its Functionality
This information is relevant for Twinkly Generation I and Generation II devices, as well as Twinkly Plus.
What is Homey and How Does It Work?
Homey is a compact hub designed to help you manage all your home automation devices. You can connect your smart devices, like Twinkly, to Homey and easily access and control them. The app allows you to link devices together, creating scenes (or flows) where one device can respond automatically to inputs from another. With Homey, you can also change the effects stored in the controller. For further details about Homey, we recommend visiting the official page.
Prerequisites
- Install the latest firmware
- Have Homey Bridge or Homey Pro
How to Activate Homey
To get started, download the Twinkly App and follow these two steps:
- Connect Twinkly to a local Wi-Fi network.
- Download the Homey app and follow the setup procedure to configure it.
Additionally, please check the following:
- Your Homey Bridge or Homey Pro device should be powered on and connected to the same local Wi-Fi network as your Twinkly.
- Ensure that the local Wi-Fi network has proper internet access.
- Your smartphone must be connected to the same local Wi-Fi network as both your Twinkly and your Homey Bridge or Homey Pro device.
- Have your Twinkly account login information ready.
How to Set Up Homey
To add the Twinkly skill to Homey, please follow these steps:
- Open your Homey app.
- Locate the Twinkly skill and add it to your Homey Assistant.
- Log in using the same credentials as your Twinkly account (if you used social login, make sure to log in with the same user).
- In the available elements list, you will see all your Twinkly devices. If you have created a group of Twinkly devices, you will be able to control the entire group at once.
