Having trouble applying changes to an effect you’ve already saved? Here’s how to replace the saved version with your edited one.
This article refers to Twinkly Generation I & II
Have you edited an effect that was already saved on your Twinkly device, but the changes are not being applied?
Before troubleshooting, the first thing to check is:
Have you already saved the effect on your device?
If the effect is already saved on the device, follow the steps below.
1. Check your saved effects
First, make sure your device is online. You can check this by looking for a solid green status dot.
Then:
- Go to the Controls section.
- Tap the Effects tab.
- Wait a few seconds for the app to connect to your device.
- The app will display the list of effects currently saved on the device.
2. Delete the previously saved effect (for Generation II only)
To save the edited version of an effect, you first need to delete the previously saved version from your device.
Go to the Controls section and delete the effect you want to edit. Once it has been removed, you can apply the edited version again and save it to the device.
Important
Saved effects can only be deleted starting from the last installed effect.
For example, if the effect you want to delete is the third effect in the list and there are two effects saved after it, you must first delete those two effects before you can delete the effect you want to replace.
Once the original effect has been deleted, you can reapply the edited version and save it to your device.
This process ensures that the updated version of the effect is correctly stored on your Twinkly device.
